MINISTRY TO THE UNDERPRIVILEGED

In obedience to the command of the Lord Jesus … “whatsoever ye have done to the least of these, ye have done it unto Me” the church ministers to the underprivileged, the poor, the helpless, the destitute and the marginalized. This ministry, which finds expression through special programs called ‘Buckets of Love’ and in various other ways, is rendered irrespective of their religious beliefs, caste, creed, ethnicity or gender. ‘Buckets of love’ is a unique program where poor orphaned children, children of rag-pickers, children affected by HIV, children in shelter homes for the physically challenged as well as disabled or deprived children are given buckets containing gifts of clothing, personal hygiene kits, note books and other stationary items, toys etc. Special Christmas programmes are organized for the underprivileged, the poor and destitute, wherein they are made to feel welcome. The Gospel is proclaimed and Christmas gifts presented to them, along with a fellowship dinner or lunch.

The Church has in the past, helped victims of floods in Nellore and Kurnool, as well as persons and families displaced during the communal riots in Odisha, by providing essential rations, blankets, bedding and personal hygiene kits. The affected children were also provided Text Books, Note Books and stationary supplies to help them begin school once again.

ALL THE ABOVE-MENTIONED GIFTS ARE SPONSORED BY THE UNION CHAPEL FAMILIES.
